The name of our company holds deep personal meaning. Born in the vibrant city of Barcelona but rooted in the rich cultural heritage of the Caribbean, Tostao & Colao is more than a brand—it’s a tribute to family, tradition, and passion.
The phrase “Tostao y Colao” comes from a beloved salsa song titled "Café"—a tune that speaks about the process of preparing coffee. Long before I ever tasted it, this song was my first introduction to the magic of coffee. As a child, I would wake to the comforting aroma of fresh brew in our home. My mother, as part of her morning ritual, would prepare her filtered coffee while that same song played softly on the radio.
That moment—half music, half memory—left an imprint on me. The lyrics of "Tostao y Colao" became a melody woven through the fabric of my upbringing. They carried the warmth of Caribbean mornings, the rhythm of heritage, and the love passed down through generations.
